Not entirely sure to be honest, Internally the engine was stock. Perhaps it had something to do with being mated to a 6 speed manual box with a lightened flywheel?

It was using the original J160 6 speed manual gearbox.

@@DWcrazyDW wait so you can reliably use the j160 with the 1uz? The only reason I haven’t swapped yet is cause I can’t afford a v160 and didn’t want to lose my 6th gear for a r154

@Oleux It was fine for me, but I didn't keep the car for very long after the conversion. The next owner ended up chewing through two J160 before uprating to an M3 DCT box. But he was driving hard a lot and tracking it. I know there are other owners who run the J160 for a while, providing they are not using it for like drifting / track, etc, and keep near stock power. The thing is, the J160 is affordable, so even if you do pop one or two, it's not that expensive. Then, you can save up for a more reliable gearbox in the meantime.

Think you can just look up the trd bumper for lexus or altezza. I just painted the middle lower section.

Nope never blown the turbo. That was from the mapping session 😆. Went to collect the car and the exhaust pipe was too short and burnt some of the bumper.

I no longer have this car. New owner doing mad things! Follow v8_dct_altezza. You wont regret doing the swap, i loved it. Maybe one day I'll do something similar again, or different. Who knows 😅 I'm just trying out other cars in the mean time.

Brother honestly and please God I plan to give my altezza to my grandkid if I get to have any. I really love this car. 😅 send me your ig brother anyways I love cars.

@shaylatehuia3108 well I purposely used the early 1uz thick rod engine just incase I wanted to boost it in the future. But I ended up selling before that. However I know of a few boosted 1uz's and they are awesome!!

Hey, I no longer own the car, and had 3sge removed and fitted with a 1uz before sale. However the turbo kit and engine I used was fitted in another altezza and still going strong. From research, as long as you don't run too high psi and hp on stock internals, it still remains pretty reliable.

Hey dude, was a while ago I did the conversion. But at the time when I did it, parts were also cheaper. I'd say it cost around £2500-£3000. But can probably be done cheaper. If you know what your doing it's not all that hard. However I did have help from experienced people who have done similar conversions.

It was a custom exhaust setup by a UK company, coming off the original exhaust manifolds.

At the time of this video, no as it was fitted with the early thick rod 1uz from 1993 ls400. However the new owner has since changed it for the 3uz engine.

Somehow there are 3 now.. must be missclicks!

@@leviwright134 unfortunately not. However the guy who I sold it to has since put a 3uz engine in, attached to a 2019 M2 DCT gearbox. It's even more crazy now!

Unless he built a bunch of custom one-off parts I would imagine it looks much like a soarer 1uz

At the time of video it had a microsquirt, but now uses a link ecu

I sold it now, but new owner may have. He's currently dropping a 3uz Into it now. But not sure if he got Instagram

Hi mate. Yes it was the original 3SGE beams, No longer have the car anymore. But at the time was running the greddy TD04 turbo kit, however this turbo is a little too small and would recommend bigger. Had 12psi running which I also wouldn't recommend on stock engine. Had the kit mapped twice, once at 245bhp and once at 270bhp. Using a Apexi power FC ecu

@@sonsofkiribati Because at 270bhp it wasn't very stable and the power delivery would sometimes drop off. The mapper noticed that the fuel pressure regulator was dropping off and needed replacing, but also because the turbo needed to be replaced as it was being pushed too far. He recommended a bigger turbo, and upgraded fuel reg and should see it running those figures alot more steady. But I ended up selling the whole kit and replacing it with a 1uz V8

Most it made on this kit was 270bhp. And yes internals were stock.

Hi James. Custom Exhaust by Infinity Exhausts in Bristol area. (2.5inch downpipes into 3inch single with burnt tip tailpipe) driver's side manifold had small section modified to clear steering column.

Sorry I can't answer that. When I bought my kit, I also bought an apexi power FC with it that I then had custom mapped. I had a recovery truck take it to a tuner as I didn't want to drive it too far unmapped.
